Site Selection

In the current climate of change in libraries and information services, the selection of an appropriate site or setting is not straightforward. The project sought to gather data from users who accessed the library catalogue in the library as well as from other locations within the institution. The library setting itself offers a more captive audience. The Okapi system was accessed on a dedicated terminal and attracted most of the users in the sample. It is far more difficult to recruit subjects in a general laboratory set-up with a range of software packages available on the same machine.
