Most users interpreted the question in terms of the look and use of the interface rather than the workings of the system which had been the focus of the earlier questions. Twelve found the instructions on how to use ENQUIRE clear or fairly clear; however one said that she would have liked more information on how to type in an optimum query. Four mentioned the windowing system as being nicer than the Tinlib character-based system. Four said that Enquire was more user friendly than other systems they had used; one said that he liked the fact that you got more information straight away than on other systems and one said that it was more choice-driven and responsive than other systems he had used. Three found it faster than other systems they used and two found it slower! This was probably due to the fact that it was running across a wide-area network and therefore subject to variation in retrieval time, depending on network traffic.
